The Granite is dedicated to building an engaging, multi-generational community.
Through our Bluegrass at The Granite series, we’ll provide coached and open jams, workshops, and professional performances, and support bluegrass artists by booking regional and touring bands to inspire appreciation for this great tradition. Our goal is to preserve and promote bluegrass in Connecticut and southeast New York.
Bluegrass and Old Time American music provide an easy framework for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to find satisfaction in singing and making music together. We believe taking up an instrument at any age and learning to sing or “jam” with others is a fantastic way to build new friendships, strengthen our community, and foster creativity.
“The Granite is a wonderful home for bluegrass music in Connecticut. Whether you’re a toe tapping listener, a jam loving bluegrass picker, or you’ve always wanted to experience the joy of learning to make music with others, I hope you’ll consider joining us.”
