The pandemic took a heavy toll on our communities and on arts and culture in particular. The Granite Church is focused on strengthening the community fabric of Redding, the town we love living in, as well as our neighboring towns. We want the rehabilitation of the Granite Church to not only connect art and history but provide activities such as exhibitions, performances, art classes, and other programming, and contribute to our area’s overall community and economic development.
BeFoundation is a Connecticut-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, with a deep commitment to supporting community well-being through its grantmaking and investment resources.
In September 2022, BeFoundation purchased the landmark Granite Church to prevent it from falling into further disrepair and ensure that its redevelopment would serve to reunify the historic village of Georgetown.
BeFoundation is providing funding for the Granite Church project, together with state and federal grants, private donations, and corporate sponsorships. The foundation will oversee the historic rehabilitation of the Granite Church to create a community gathering place to support the townspeople of Redding and the surrounding area.
We welcome media opportunities to promote the Granite Church project. Please contact us to schedule.
