Cabaret offers audiences a chance to hear performers\, many of them steeped in theater practices and repertory\, in a relaxed and intimate setting. Cabaret is all about a singer’s connection with you\, the audience. It’s all about ‘breaking the fourth wall’-and that’s the excitement inherent in this format. \nMEET THE ARTISTS \nClaire Mailhot\, Performer \nClaire Mailhot is a Fairfield County–based singer\, pianist\, music director\, voice teacher\, and arts educator. For the past 15 years\, she has taught vocal music\, acting\, and general music at Wooster School in Danbury\, where she serves as Head of Music & Theatre. \nClaire has appeared throughout Connecticut with Musicals at Richter (The Sound of Music\, The Music Man\, and Annie)\, Ridgefield Theater Barn (The Baker’s Wife)\, Wilton Playshop (Into the Woods and Nunsense)\, and Fairfield Center Stage (Fiddler on the Roof). A passionate lover of musical theatre\, she has also been featured in solo concerts and cabarets throughout the region\, including performances for the Richter Arts Association and Temple Shir Shalom. \nAs a pianist and music director\, Claire has played for and conducted more than 20 productions\, with Into the Woods remaining a perennial favorite. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from The Catholic University of America—and a Master’s from the School of Life. \nJessica Smith\, Director \nJessica Smith is a theater director\, educator\, and artist\, serving most recently as an adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University and a director for theaters throughout Western Connecticut. \nA graduate of the Boston Conservatory\, Jessica teaches courses in directing\, acting\, and musical theater\, and leads directing and acting workshops for theater groups throughout New England.
