DESCRIPTION:Grief Recovery After Substance Passing (GRASP) was created to offer understanding\, compassion\, and support for those who have lost someone they love through addiction and overdose. \nToo many times we suffer not only the death of the person we love\, but we become isolated in our grief. We feel\, and too many times it is true\, that no one understands our pain. But at GRASP\, we do. We have suffered this same kind of loss and we have found the love and connection that only those who have lived this loss can give another. And while the pain of this loss will always be with us\, we have found through GRASP that we don’t have to walk the road that is our pain alone. We walk it together; hand in hand and heart to heart. \nGRASP is a discussion group that provides help\, compassion\, and most of all understanding for individuals who have had someone they love die as a result of substance use. \nLearn more by visiting their website at grasphelp.org. DESCRIPTION:Grief Recovery After Substance Passing (GRASP) was created to offer understanding\, compassion\, and support for those who have lost someone they love through addiction and overdose. \nToo many times we suffer not only the death of the person we love\, but we become isolated in our grief. We feel\, and too many times it is true\, that no one understands our pain. But at GRASP\, we do. We have suffered this same kind of loss and we have found the love and connection that only those who have lived this loss can give another. And while the pain of this loss will always be with us\, we have found through GRASP that we don’t have to walk the road that is our pain alone. We walk it together; hand in hand and heart to heart. \nGRASP is a discussion group that provides help\, compassion\, and most of all understanding for individuals who have had someone they love die as a result of substance use. \nLearn more by visiting their website at grasphelp.org. DESCRIPTION:Jimmy Grashow Day\nSeptember 19th\nCelebrate Jimmy Grashow Day by doing what Jimmy loved best: creating with cardboard! \nA year ago this week\, The Granite was honored to host the talented and beloved Redding artist Jimmy Grashow’s magnum opus\, The Cathedral. That evening at The Granite\, the Town of Redding declared September 19th “Jimmy Grashow Day”. Over 700 people were in attendance that night\, and more than 3\,000 people visited the Jimmy’s World exhibit over the following month. \nSadly\, we lost Jimmy on Monday\, making the second Jimmy Grashow Day bittersweet as we remember our friend. Now\, we’re calling on our community to indulge in some creative expression with cardboard\, Jimmy’s favorite material. \nUpcycle your cardboard\, draw a little doodle\, paint\, or go full Jimmy and build something. Share it with us at @thegranitechurch on Facebook or Instagram\, and we’ll highlight the submissions\, spreading Jimmy’s most powerful message\, Love. \nWe look forward to creating with you!
