SUMMARY:Ethan Setiawan & Fine Ground with Bugs on a Log
DESCRIPTION:Ethan Setiawan & Fine Ground with Bugs on a Log\nThursday\, October 1\, 8:30 PM (Doors at 8 PM)\nTickets: $30 \nEthan Setiawan & Fine Ground \nEthan Setiawan & Fine Ground is deeply rooted in and colored by traditional bluegrass\, yet forward-leaning into a thoughtful modernity. This Boston-based quintet allies some of the Northeast bluegrass scene’s most athletic musicians: BB Bowness\, Julian Pinelli\, Alex Rubin\, Brittany Karlson\, and bandleader Ethan Setiawan. \nNamed “creative and virtuosic” by WBUR Boston and “one of the most formidable mandolinists of his generation” by The Bluegrass Situation\, Setiawan has earned both the National Mandolin Championship and Rockygrass Mandolin Championship. Fine Ground grew from his desire to return to the music that first inspired him while honoring bluegrass with fresh original compositions alongside songs by beloved contemporary folk artists. \nRecorded live at Dimension Sound Studios\, Little Storms captures the musical depth that comes through longtime friendship\, collaboration\, and love of craft. The debut album\, recorded by Dan Cardinal\, mixed by Setiawan\, and mastered by Dave Glasser\, arrives October 2\, 2026. \n \nBugs on a Log \nBrimming with festivity\, Bugs on a Log is an emergent string band that cultivates warmth and joy wherever they go. \nWith a wealth of expertise spanning from classical to old-time to bluegrass under their collective belt\, Bugs on a Log is a group sculpted from dynamic abundance. The New England-based band marries their spread of music with care— the result an uncommon blend of precision\, vitality\, and innovation. \nComposed of Lana Auerbach (fiddle\, banjo)\, Austin Scelzo (fiddle\, mandolin\, guitar)\, Jeff Smith (guitar\, banjo\, mandolin)\, Malcolm Callagy (cello\, fiddle)\, Jack Corcoran (bass)\, and Oriana Mack (fiddle)\, each member is a multi-hyphenate talent and vocalist in their own right. Their chemistry is palpable and compelling; Bugs on a Log is a new outfit full of promise\, ever sure to deliver a sweeping alchemy of strings and spirit.

SUMMARY:The Listening Room
DESCRIPTION:The Listening Room with Carrie Linsky\nSaturday\, October 17\, 8 PM (Doors 7:30 PM)\nTickets: $35 \nThe Listening Room with Carrie Linsky is an intimate concert series that celebrates the art of songwriting through music\, conversation\, and community. Each evening features a thoughtfully curated lineup of songwriters sharing stripped-down original songs and collaborating in ways that can only happen in the moment. \nThrough thoughtful questions and candid conversation\, host Carrie Linsky takes audiences behind the curtain and into the creative lives of the artists—the inspirations\, struggles\, breakthroughs\, and moments of wonder that shape their work. Whether you’re a songwriter\, music lover\, or simply curious about the human stories behind great songs\, The Listening Room offers a unique opportunity to listen deeply and experience music in a whole new way. \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nCarrie Linsky – Producer\, Songwriter\, Host – Georgetown\, CT\nLong before Caravan of Thieves\, there was just Carrie\, a guitar\, and a song. That’s where she started\, and where she has always felt deeply at home. \nWidely known as co-founder and co-lead of the beloved gypsy-swing quartet\nCaravan of Thieves\, Carrie has watched the band’s reach grow in ways nobody quite expected. Their song “Eat You” went viral on TikTok and now boasts over 8 million streams\, and “Raise the Dead” found a new audience following its feature on a popular HBO series last year. \nOver the past twenty years\, Carrie has been busy recording and releasing seven albums\, touring internationally\, and holding her own on stages alongside Emmylou Harris\, Keb Mo\, The Decemberists\, Bela Fleck\, and high-energy acts like Deep Banana Blackout and The Motet. She is now reemerging as a solo artist while continuing to perform with Caravan of Thieves and alt/folk duo\, Fuzz and Carrie. Carrie can command a room in any setting\, but when it’s just her and a guitar\, something opens up that feels intimate and free\, connecting instantly with her audience. \nSince planting roots in the greater Georgetown community\, Carrie has been building a home for songwriters at the Granite by leading songwriting workshop series\, hosting songwriter circles\, and curating a new concert series this October featuring local and touring performing songwriters. Learn more at caravanofthieves.com \nHeather Maloney – Featured Guest Songwriter – Northampton\, MA\nMassachusetts-based “writer song-singer” Heather Maloney found music in the midst of three years at a meditation center\, honing a sound moored in days of silent reflection and reverence for storytellers like Joni\, Rilke\, Ken Burns\, and the anonymous authors of Zen parables. While she eventually traded the quiet\, structured life of a yogi for the kinetic life of a touring musician\, the core of her songwriting has remained centered around the same curiosity about our inner world and the desire to articulate it through storytelling. \nWith over 1\,000 international shows and 8 studio albums under her belt\, she recently released her 9th and most personal record to date\, “Exploding Star”. Written in the wake of her father’s death\, “Exploding Star” is a collection of 12 songs that Maloney originally had no intentions of recording or releasing until some of her closest friends and family convinced her otherwise. \nHeather’s songs have played on NPR stations across the country and her live appearances have aired on syndicated programming like eTown and AudioTree. Her song “Nightstand Drawer” was featured in the season finale of the CBS TV series “Elementary”\, and her songs have also been streamed hundreds of thousands of times on editorial Spotify playlists & Starbucks’ in-store nationwide playlists. \nHeather has toured throughout the US & Canada as a headliner and also in support of acts including Lake Street Dive\, Shakey Graves\, Gary Clark Jr.\, Rodrigo y Gabriela\, Colin Hay (Men at Work)\, Mary Chapin Carpenter\, Shawn Colvin\, Dar Williams and many more. Learn more at heathermaloney.com \nSophie Seaver – Featured Guest Songwriter – New Canaan\, CT\nSophie Seaver is a 16-year-old Connecticut-based artist whose organic\, confessional songwriting blends mellow acoustic folk with subtle jazz influence\, marked by surprising chord changes and the warm presence of upright bass. Writing candidly about social anxiety\, relationship insecurities\, and the hidden inner lives of others\, her music feels heartfelt\, comforting\, and quietly daring. \nSophie has honed her craft through formative experiences with School of Rock\, Grammy Camp\, and Rare Artist\, and her work has been recognized nationally as a YoungArts winner. \nDrawing inspiration from artists like Adrianne Lenker\, Phoebe Bridgers\, Lizzy McAlpine\, Kacey Musgraves\, and Olivia Dean\, she is steadily shaping a timeless sound that prioritizes intimacy\, emotional honesty\, and thoughtful world-building. \nDan Asher – Featured Guest Musician – Bronx\, NY\nDan Asher has been busy performing and teaching in the New York area since graduating from Lawrence University in 2001. His active schedule has included performances at legendary venues such as Birdland\, the Blue Note\, Smalls and the 55 Bar\, covering a wide range of music\, mainly Rock\, R&B\, Jazz and everything in between. \nAs an in-demand sideman on electric and upright bass\, he has performed with artists such as Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes\, keyboardists David Bryan and Jay Oliver and trumpet legend Shunzo Ono. \nHe also performs with renowned gospel and blues artist Alexis P Suter as well as the acoustic outfit Caravan of Thieves at numerous festivals in the Northeast as well as in Canada. Most recently\, he was part of the Wheels of Soul tour with Gabe Dixon\, while also having the chance to perform with the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Los Lobos. He currently lives in the Bronx\, New York.
